We have 4 females in our household. We always have bobby pins floating around the house. Bobby pin storage has never been very organized at our house. Lately I have been seeing even more bobby pins than usual due to my toddler carrying them all over the place.
My oldest daughter uses the most bobby pins and they are usually all over her room at any given time! I decided I needed to improve her system for bobby pin storage!
She has a cute white table that she gets ready at. I decided to put a strip of flexible magnetic tape along the outside edge of her table. This tape has an adhesive back on it and so it just sticks right to the table with no problem. The adhesive isn't so strong that you can't remove the tape if you want to. That is a nice element of this solution because she likes to rearrange her room regularly and this side of the table could be up against a wall in a month!
Make sure you have a clean dry surface to adhere the magnetic tape to so that it sticks properly. The magnetic tape can just be cut with scissors in the length that you need.
I didn't want to have the ugly black magnetic strip just showing there on the side of the table. I got some cute washi tape that would match her room nicely and just taped over the magnetic strip. It was a simple and cheap way to make the magnetic tape look cute and attractive!
This solution took me about 10 minutes to complete. Now she can sit at her table and fix her hair and just reach over and grab a bobby pin or put one back with no issues at all. It is also a cute bobby pin storage solution!
Do you have a certain bobby pin storage solution that you use? What items do you have trouble storing?

I need this! Seems that no matter how many bobby pins you buy, they always seem to get lost too! This is such a smart invention!

This is such a great idea! I’m always losing Bobby pins, hair ties, scrunchies & all the other hair accessories. I think my cats take off with them most of the time. I love that you put washi tape on the black magnetic, really finishes it nicely.

That’s really cool! I’m trying to figure out how to store my toddler’s stuffed animals. They’re all over the living room with no place to put them at night. =) Thinking about getting a tall hamper or something to put in her room.

This is an awesome idea indeed for storing bobby pins. It would make it much easier to put your hair up like you said. I have some decorative tape I bought that would work great for this project too. Thanks for sharing.
