Bacon Wrapped Chicken is definitely one of my FAVORITE chicken recipes. It is just that good! I will say that it is a little time-consuming to make, but so worth it.
Bacon Wrapped Chicken
You may think that the bacon would be the best part of this recipe, but it really isn't! It is the flavor of the seasonings that makes this chicken just pop. I think you will fall in love with this recipe just like we did. The crispy bacon brings the whole recipe together for a purely amazing main dish!
If you are making this in the oven you really need to use a pan like the Chicago Metallic Non-stick Roast and Broil Pan with Nonstick Rack. This will give you much better results because the pan has a rack for the chicken to cook on that allows all the grease from the bacon to drip down to the pan below. This will allow the chicken and bacon to crisp up and it won't be sitting in a pool of liquid and grease!!
On Busy Nights
I also like to make up extra seasoning to use on busy week nights when I may not have the time to wrap all the chicken with bacon. This seasoning is delicious on its own. I just coat the chicken with the seasoning and bake it in the oven or in my NuWave Oven.

If making in the regular oven, preheat to 350 F.
Mix together salt, paprika, black pepper, onion powder, Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
Sprinkle mixture evenly over chicken on all sides. Coat them generously in the spice mixture.
Wrap two sliced bacon strips around chicken tender and tuck in the loose ends. You can use toothpicks if needed to keep the bacon in place.
Mix together brown sugar and chili powder.
Sprinkle this mixture generously over bacon wrapped chicken tenders. Press the brown sugar mixture into the chicken to pack it on. Put the mixture on both sides of the chicken.
Place chicken on the grill tray of your Nuwave Oven. If baking in regular oven, place chicken on pan with a grill tray that allows the grease to drip down into the pan below.
Cook for 8-10 minutes on each side in your Nuwave Oven. The cook time will depend on how thick your chicken tenders are and how well done you like your chicken cooked. If cooking in the regular oven, bake for 25-30 minutes or until chicken is done and bacon is crisp. You can broil for the last few minutes to crisp the bacon more, if needed.
Serve hot for best results!
If you want to use chicken tenderloins or even chicken breasts it will work. You will just need to adjust cooking time for the larger pieces of chicken. You may need to make up more seasoning mix for the larger pieces of chicken.
