It was so fun to see peacocks walking around our neighborhood! I remember having a whole vase in my room full of beautiful peacock feathers!
These peacock cupcakes remind me of those pretty birds!

HOW TO MAKE PEACOCK CUPCAKES
This is a fun dessert to make with kids! These are perfect for a zoo or animal themed party!
STEP ONE: FROST CUPCAKES
Start off by frosting each cupcake with white frosting.
STEP TWO: PREPARE CONES
Now take the ice cream cones and cut the top rim off each cone. Just discard the rims because we won't be using them.
Sit the cones down on a tray with the open portion down and the bottom facing up.
STEP THREE: MELT WHITE CHOCOLATE
Go ahead and melt the white candy melts according to the package directions.
When the chocolate is melted put some in a sandwich bag and snip off the tip of one corner to make a piping bag.
STEP THREE: MAKE THE FACE
Place two dots of white chocolate on the cone and then put the candy eyes on top of the chocolate. This will harden and hold the eyes in place.
Place one dot of chocolate under the eyes where a nose would go. Put an orange sprinkle on top of this dot for the nose.
STEP FOUR: MELT THE REST OF THE CHOCOLATE
Go ahead and melt the green and blue candy melts according to package directions.
Place the melted chocolate into separate plastic bags and snip off one corner to make piping bags.
STEP FIVE: MAKE FEATHERS
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pipe a feather shape of each color in a fan shape about 3 inches tall. It is important that the colors touch so they will stay together once they harden.
Sprinkle the purple sprinkles on top of the white feather.
The green and blue feathers can have alternating swirls to resemble the colors of a peacock feather.
Make enough feathers for each cupcake to have a set of 3 feathers.
Let these feathers dry completely.
STEP SIX: MAKE HEAD FEATHERS
Now take the white chocolate piping bag and make little “W” shapes. Just squeeze the shapes onto the parchment paper and make them less than 1 inch tall.
Take the green and blue piping bags and put a dot of color on each tip of the “W” shape. Sprinkle some purple sprinkles on too, if desired.
Let these harden completely.
These will be the head feathers on the peacock.
STEP SEVEN: ASSEMBLE
Now take some white chocolate and put a dot of white chocolate on the back side of the cone–opposite the face. Then stick the feather fan to this so that it looks like the feathers are fanning out behind the bird's body.
Place another dot of white chocolate just above the eye's and stick the “W” shape to it for the head feathers.
Place your peacock onto the top of each cupcake and press down a little bit to secure it.

These easy Peacock Cupcakes are adorable for any zoo or animal themed party. These adorable cupcakes are so colorful!
- 6 Prepared Cupcakes unfrosted
- 1 container White Frosting
- 6 Blue Ice Cream Cake Cones
- 12 Edible Candy Eyes
- 1 package Wilton Bubble Gum Sprinkles
- 8 oz. White Chocolate Candy Melts
- 8 oz. Green Chocolate Candy Melts
- 8 oz. Turquoise Chocolate Candy Melts
- 1 package Purple Sanding Sugar
Frost each cupcake with a layer of white frosting.
Cut the top rim off each blue cone and discard the top rims. Set the cone parts with the opened end down on a tray so bottoms of the cones are faced up.
Melt the white chocolate according to package directions and put it into a small plastic bag and snip the tip off. Put 2 dots of chocolate on each cone on the side near the top and press 2 eyeballs on. Put a dot of chocolate under the eyes and stick an orange tiny bubble gum sprinkle to those. Let the chocolate harden.
Melt the other two colors of chocolate and put each of those colors in their own plastic bag and snip off an end.
To make the peacock feathers, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pipe a feather shape of each color in a fan shape making sure the colors touch. Sprinkle the purple sugar on the white feathers. Put a little swirl of a different color chocolate on each feather to resemble the multi-color feathers of a peacock. My feather were about 3 inches long. Let these harden completely.
Use the white chocolate to make 6 little “W” shapes on the parchment paper no more than an inch tall. Take each of the chocolate colors and put a dot on each end of the “W” shapes. Sprinkle some purple sugar on the little white dots. Let these harden completely. These will be the little feathers for the top of the peacock’s heads.
On each cone on the opposite side of the eyes, put a dot of chocolate and stick a fan of the peacock feathers to it. It should look like the big fan of feathers is behind the cone body and the face.
On top of each cone right above the eyes, put a dot of white chocolate, and stick the little feather “w” to it. Let all the chocolate harden.
Put a peacock on each cupcake and press them into the frosting a little bit so they are secure.
