WHAT IS A WHATCHAMACALLIT?
Depending on your age and how much time you spend in the candy aisle at the store, you may not have heard of a Whatchamacallit candy bar.
This candy bar debuted in 1978 and is made by The Hershey Company. Originally the bars were made of peanut butter crisp that was coated in a light chocolate coating. Fast forward to 1987 and The Hershey Company decided to improve this already yummy candy.
Since 1987 the Whatchamacallit candy bar has a caramel peanut butter crispy center that is coated with milk chocolate. It is one of my FAVORITE candy bars and I know I personally contributed to the candy bar's success by buying so many during my pre-teen and teen years, LOL!
WHY GIVE TEACHERS GIFTS?
I have heard people say that they think it is silly to give teachers gifts. They believe that the teachers get paid to teach their children and that should be enough.
I have never been a teacher, but I worked for 18 years as a school nurse. Working alongside teachers for almost 20 years allowed me to have first-hand knowledge of what teachers do every day.
Their job is much more than 8 am to 4 pm. They don't only give your child an education. Teachers also give children their hearts, time, and love. They take the job home each night. I saw many teachers give and give and give of their time and their own money to help students in their care.
Teaching can be a very thankless job. Everyone loves to know their work is appreciated and acknowledged.
The teachers I have worked with over the years never expected expensive, lavish gifts from students or their parents. But a small meaningful gesture could make their whole week!
This Whatchamacallit Teacher Appreciation Gift is a quick way to show a teacher you care and that you see them!
HOW DO I PUT THIS WHATCHAMACALLIT TEACHER APPRECIATION GIFT TOGETHER?
If you have read my blog for very long, you know that I like projects that are quick and easy. This DIY teacher gift is no exception!!
There are two simple options for giving this Whatchamacallit Teacher Appreciation Gift. Either option will start with you printing off the free printable teacher appreciation gift tag via the button you will see further on in this article.
- The first option is to grab a clear cellophane treat bag. Put a little bit of shredded paper crinkle confetti in the bag. Then add the candy bar. Tie the bag closed with some twine or ribbon. Use a hole punch to put a small hole in the corner of the gift tag and tie it onto the bag with the twine or ribbon.
- The second option is to hole-punch a small hole in the corner of the gift tag. Use some brightly colored ribbon and tie the gift tag directly to the candy bar and present it that way.
No matter which option you choose…your teacher is going to love munching on this delicious candy bar and will get a kick out of the candy pun!
