Ingredients

  • 6 quarts water
  • 2 pounds small red potatoes
  • 10 ears corn cut into half or quarters husks removed
  • 2 pounds smoked sausage cut into chunks
  • 3-4 pounds shrimp (you can buy cooked ready to eat or uncooked with peels on)
  • 3/4 cup Old Bay seasoning

Instructions

  1. Bring water and Old Bay seasoning to a full boil.
  2. Add potatoes and boil for 15 minutes.
  3. Add in sausage and cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Add corn and cook for 5 more minutes.
  5. Last add shrimp and cook until pink usually 4 or 5 minutes.
  6. Drain liquid and serve on a large platter or can be served in the traditional way on a table covered with butcher or newspaper.

Recipe Notes

You can serve this with cocktail sauce, ketchup, BBQ sauce or just alone. Some people like to use lemon wedges or melted butter.
You can cut your potatoes into quarters if you don't have small potatoes.
You can sprinkle a little Old Bay seasoning on top after draining for a little extra flavor.
