Easy Breakfast Casserole

A quick and easy breakfast casserole that is great for breakfast or dinner! This is a great recipe for using up old bread!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausage cooked and drained
  • 8-10 slices bread
  • 8 eggs beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried mustard

Instructions

  1. Brown your ground sausage and drain off any excess grease.
  2. Tear bread into small pieces and layer in the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 baking pan.
  3. Layer sausage on top of bread.
  4. Beat eggs in a bowl. Mix in milk, salt and dried mustard.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and bread.
  6. Layer cheese over the top.
  7. Cover and place in refrigerator for 7-8 hours or overnight.
  8. When ready to cook, remove from refrigerator and cover with foil.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 15 more minutes.

Recipe Notes

You can use any kind of shredded cheese your family likes.
This is great with salsa on top after baking!
You can spice it up by using hot and spicy sausage!
