Fried Jalapenos

Easy and delicious snack or appetizer, these Fried Jalapenos can't be beat!

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup Sparkling water or soda water or beer
  • 2 cups sliced jalapeno peppers
  • oil for frying


  1. Slice jalapeno peppers into 1/2 inch or thinner slices.
  2. Wash and remove seeds if desired, dry on paper towel.
  3. Mix together all other ingredients in a bowl (except oil) for batter.
  4. Add jalapenos to the batter mixture and stir to coat all slices.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet. Oil needs to be hot, around 365 degrees F.
  6. Add peppers to oil and cook until golden brown, approximately 5 minutes or so.
  7. Drain on a paper towel after removing from oil.
