Weight Watchers Sloppy Joe Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Lean Ground Turkey
  • ½ cup Onion diced
  • ½ cup Red Pepper diced
  • ½ cup Green Pepper diced
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons Splenda Brown Sugar Blend
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 15 oz. can Tomato Sauce or Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Add olive oil to a large pan over medium high heat.
  2. Add the diced onions, red and green pepper and minced Garlic. Sauté for 3-4 minutes or till the vegetables are slightly soft.
  3. Add the ground turkey and cook it for 4 to 5 minutes, breaking up the meat with the spatula, till the meat is browned.
  4. Add the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Splenda brown sugar blend, chili powder, salt and pepper and mix well.
  5. Bring the meat mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, till the meat sauce is thickened to your liking.
  6. Serve the Sloppy Joe over whole wheat buns and enjoy.

Divide the mixture into 6 equal servings. Each serving is 2 points on the new WeightWatchers Program.
