Weight Watchers Oven Fried Shrimp

This Weight Watchers Oven Fried Shrimp recipe is easy to make and the results are fantastic, crispy shrimp without all the added fat from frying!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh or frozen Large Shrimp thawed
  • 2 teaspoons Low Sodium Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 2 large Eggs
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Water
  • 1 cup 100% Whole Wheat Panko Breadcrumbs
  • Olive Oil Non-stick Spray

Instructions

  1. If using frozen shrimp, let it thaw in the refrigerator till soft. Clean, peel and devein the shrimp. Keep the tail on.
  2. In a large shallow bowl add the cleaned shrimps. Add a teaspoon of Old Bay Seasoning, garlic and onion powder. Mix well, making sure that the shrimps are well coated in the seasoning.
  3. In a bowl crack the eggs. add a teaspoon of water and a pinch of salt and whisk well.
  4. Pour the Panko breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl. Add the remaining teaspoon of Oil Bay Seasoning and mix well.
  5. Dip the seasoned shrimp in the egg mixture and dredge in the Panko breadcrumbs mixture to coat evenly.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375 F and line a baking tray with foil and lightly spray with olive oil.
  7. Place the crumb coated shrimps in a single layer. Lightly spay the shrimp with olive oil spray.
  8. Bake at 375 F for 15 minutes. Serve immediately.

Recipe Notes

Divide the shrimp into 4 equal portions approximately 1/4 pound per serving.

Each serving is 3 points for the Blue and Purple myWW plans. The green plan is 5 points. 

On the current WeightWatchers Program (2023) it is 2 points per serving.
