1. Tallest animals in the world
Most of us know that they are tall creatures. They are actually the tallest among all of the animals. Giraffes reach up to 18 feet in height. Can you imagine that? They're like a two story house already. Their height makes it easier for them to reach trees and leaves when eating.
2. Purple Tongues
With that height, they also have long tongues which measures up to 20 inches. Because they are closer to the sun compared to others, they have dark purple or even black tongues. The reason for this is to keep their tongues from getting burned by the sunlight.
3. Sleeping Pattern
Unlike humans or other animals, giraffes only sleep for about 30 minutes to 2 hours a day. They take short naps while standing up throughout the day. And that helps them keep safe from predators.
4. Fast Runners
This is a bit surprising considering how tall and big they are. They can run up to 35 miles per hour. Giraffes run when they are in danger.
5. Super Eaters
Giraffes spend most of their time eating. They can eat for 16 to 20 hours a day. Munching on leaves are something they love doing!
