Welcome to Life is Sweeter by Design! I’m Jamie…
Do you feel like you are floating in a canoe without a paddle…is your life lacking the sweetness you always thought would come naturally? Do you wonder if there is more to life than the rat race you are running? I can truly relate….and I believe this blog can help you realize your dream of having a SWEET life!
Here is a little bit about me:
I am married to my best friend, Daniel for over 20 years!
I am a busy mom to 4 sweet blessings…Gabe (20), Jaiden (16), Avery (12) and Emersyn (5).
I am blessed to be a child of God and am always working to improve my walk with the Lord. I live in a small town in south Central Kansas. I work outside the home part-time as a school nurse.
Now for the inside scoop…I absolutely LOVE being a mom….yet there are days I feel like it is going to kill me! I love to eat and have been battling my weight for years. I love to read, but don’t always allow myself the pleasure because I am unable to put a good book down! I get butterflies just thinking about going on a trip somewhere…practically anywhere will get me excited. Some people would say I am a tad bit outspoken. I am very loyal. I despise onions…you will never see a recipe on here with actual onions in it (feel free to add them in when you make it)! I am not naturally crafty, but do love to scrapbook and try out DIY projects. I LOVE to find a good deal…I am a couponer and proud of it! I get giddy when I find a steal at a garage sale or thrift store. If you want to know even more about me head over and read 25 Things You May Not Know About Me!
How did ”Life is Sweeter by Design” come about?
Up until a few years ago I had been living an average American life. I was a full-time working mom, very busy with church, school activities and just LIFE. I guess if you had asked me I would have said I was happy. I don’t think I really had time to be happy! Then suddenly my family was hit with a tragic incident involving one of our children. I was really thrown for a loop and my faith was tested. Then later that year we experienced the loss of a child due to miscarriage. I can honestly tell you that I descended into a rough place that I now refer to as my drought.
When I finally came out of the drought I had a renewed conviction as a Christian and as a wife and mother that I needed to take charge of my life. I realized that my life was so much sweeter when I designed it…when I lived it to the fullest…when I didn’t just let life knock me around!
I am trying to live a sweet life and I invite you to join me! I will be working to bring you fun ideas, recipes, DIY activities, travel ideas and MORE! I will help you remember to treasure the little things in life because it is in those small moments when we can have the sweetest experiences!
