Spring time means WEATHER…at least it does in Kansas! It isn't always as exciting as the Wizard of Oz makes it out to be, but yes….we do have more than our fair share of tornadoes! How about making learning a little more fun by talking as we play WEATHER BINGO!! Who doesn't love a fun game of bingo?

Teaching Kids About Weather Safety is Important
There are lots of awesome lessons to learn about weather. I think the most important topic is safety. It is really critical that we talk to our kids about things like lightning…..tornadoes……hail. We can't expect them to learn everything at school.
I know that if I sit my kids down and do a formal “lesson” about weather safety it will be a SNOOZE FEST! If I say….let's play BINGO….they will run to the table. Then all I have to do is casually ask them questions and mention some safety tips. Informal learning can be the best kind of learning!!
It is also fun to just have something fun to do when the weather is messing with our outdoor plans. I love the irony of playing Weather Bingo when the weather is bad outside, LOL.
Fun Prizes for Weather Bingo
Prizes are kind of a no-brainer when bingo is being played. No prizes means NO FUN! 🙂 Or maybe that is just me…hee, hee, hee! I have found some really fun weather related items that would be PERFECT for weather bingo.
Weather Stamps: these come in a pack of 6 and you could hand out ONE stamp to a winner! So you would have 6 prizes with this set.
Weather Hand Puppets: These hand puppets are ADORABLE and the perfect prize for a winning card.
Weather Stickers & Pencils: These weather sticker sheets and pencils are a great prize for kids who win bingo!
Download Weather Bingo Cards
I have created 6 different Weather Bingo cards for you to download. I like to print these off on white cardstock and then we can reuse them over and over. If you have an at-home laminator that is also a great way to keep the cards in good condition.
There is a calling card at the end with all the symbols that you can print off, cut each box out and draw for the calls.

Hi Jamie,
I am not sure how I would play this game Weather Bingo. I am familiar with the normal game where there are numbers being called, but the images on the Bingo cards are all different (25 different pictures), so I’m wondering how I would play it so that I would have enough of those little pieces. How many of that last page do i print off?I guess I am wondering in terms of probability how best do i see if a child is going to get all the needed tokens in a row.
Hi Jayne, So to play you will cut apart the individual pictures of the images on the cards. Then you can draw a picture and the kids who have that picture on their card will mark it. You will play until someone gets a bingo. Hope this helps!
Oh I get it now! Thank you!
