When I look at the word saturate my first thought is a sponge soaking wet with water leaking out. The sponge can't hold any more water because it is so thoroughly drenched!
I know that most of my readers are women…most are moms….you may be wondering why you should take the time to read a book that isn't going to give you any tips on parenting, housework or organization! I get it!!
But….are you a Christian woman who feels like you are not really connected to your faith? Are you a weekly church attendee, but don't feel like you are making a difference during the week? Are you feeling a disconnect from your local, traditional church? This book may be just what the Lord is calling you to read!
Jeff Vanderstelt took a word that is commonly used in marketing and business and used it to teach us a lesson about our walk with Jesus Christ!
Jeff's book, Saturate, is all about being disciples of Jesus in the everyday stuff of life!
Jeff points out that as Christians we should be saturated with Jesus. His plan is to work through all of us in every place! But…Jesus saturation can't happen through you until it's happened to you!

I love the picture that is painted….a picture of the church. The church how Jesus planned it to be. A church isn't something you go to…it is something you are! Wow…think about that for a minute! 😀
I love the reminder in Chapter 3. “Our job is not to be Jesus. Our job is to believe Jesus, depend on Jesus, and submit to Jesus working in and through us to accomplish his work.” Jeff shared his own personal struggle as a leader with trying to “be Jesus” and how it just doesn't work!

The reminder of what being a disciple of Jesus is really about and how we are supposed to be making disciples of others was a powerful reminder to me! I am not doing what I need to do in this area of my Christian walk and this book showed me how I can make this more of a priority!
I like to underline passages or sentences that speak to me as I read a book…..I did a LOT of underlining with this book. I really loved the fresh perspective that Jeff has shared in Saturate!
This book will challenge you to look at church a little differently….in a way that I believe will please the Lord! This book will challenge you to look at your own walk with Christ…..and see where you are really at.
I highly recommend Saturate by Jeff Vanderstelt for any Christian! You can find it HERE or at your local Family Christian store.
