One of my biggest concerns with reserving a spot at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney World Magic Kingdom was wondering if it was worth it since my daughter had shorter hair. Is it worth it to spend the money on Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique if your child has short hair? Find out what our experience was and then make the choice for your family.

WHAT IS BIBBIDI BOBBIDI BOUTIQUE?
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a wonderful special salon at Magic Kingdom that will transform little girls into little Disney princesses.
There are also two other locations that you can get this experience if the Magic Kingdom location is booked. You can visit the location at Disney Springs or the location at the Grand Floridian Resort.
Each person gets their very own Fairy Godmother (in training) to help with this transformation.
If you have a son who wants to be transformed into a prince that works too!
This is a fairly costly adventure and they have several different packages to choose from. Packages start at $74.95 and go up from there. If you want to get the highest package with a very fancy princess dress you could spend close to $500!!
All the packages include hairstyling, shimmering makeup with a face gem, a princess sash and cinch bag, and nail polish. If you pick a more expensive package it will start including items like t-shirts, tutu and then even full princess gowns.
SHOULD MY DAUGHTER GO TO BIBBIDI BOBBIDI BOUTIQUE IF SHE HAS SHORT HAIR?
About 2 months before our trip to Disney World my youngest daughter decided she wanted her hair cut into a chin length bob. The haircut looked adorable on her, but my first thought was…what about her appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique??
I honestly didn't know if it was going to be worth $100 or more dollars if they couldn't do much with styling her hair.
The pictures I always see of little girls who have gone include a beautiful hairstyle.
I talked to my Disney Vacationeer and she did some research for me. After giving it some thought I decided to keep the appointment and knew my daughter would have a blast no matter what!
I had to laugh while I was there because I saw a little girl who was probably only 3 years old and she had very little hair still. She was having a wonderful time anyway!!
HOW DO THEY STYLE SHORT HAIR?
When we got there and were settled in with our stylist she showed my daughter different styling options. She picked an option where they swept up part of her hair and it ended up looking wonderful.
There are different hair accessories available to choose from that can make short hair still look very princess-like. They had braided headbands, jeweled clips, etc. so that any choice would look fantastic.
I was amazed at how they were able to manage my daughter's hairdo and it stayed in place all day thanks to the massive amount of product they put into her hair, LOL.
IS BIBBIDI BOBBIDI BOUTIQUE WORTH IT?
I know this is one of the most common questions parents ask when they are trying to decide if they should pay the extra money for this appointment.
It was a special morning for my daughter and she seemed to really, really enjoy the whole process. Everyone loves being pampered once in a while.
Here are some things to consider when you are making your decision:
How old is your child? I don't know if it is worth it to pay for a child who won't remember the experience. Kids have to be between 3 and 12 years old to make the appointment, but personally I would probably only do it if my child was at least 5 years old.
Is your child really into the whole “princess” thing? If the answer is YES then it will probably be worth it no matter what. If the answer is NO then I would save your money!! Don't do it if the child doesn't really care!
Do you have time in your Disney vacation schedule to fit this in? It takes up a good portion of time and you may just not have the flexibility to make it happen.
Will your child be happy to be all “made up” for the rest of their day at Disney? My daughter doesn't like itchy clothes so we didn't bother upgrading the package to include a princess dress because I knew she would never wear it around the park all day. She was fine with the makeup and fancy hairdo!
WE ARE GLAD WE DID BIBBIDI BOBBIDI BOUTIQUE
Overall, I was glad we did the appointment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. It was a one time experience and even if we go back in another year or two, I won't pay to do it again.
My daughter had fun and we have some beautiful photos to remember the experience by! I took a lot of pictures but they also had the Disney photographers taking tons of pics and since I am a firm believer in the Disney Memory Maker package we have all of those shots too!
It was expensive, but the whole trip is expensive and the point is to make special and unique memories!
Have you done it? Do you think it is worth it? Does your daughter have shorter hair?
