“You Are My I Love You” is a poem by Maryann K. Cusimano that I found in a scrapbooking magazine many years ago and tore out to save! I came across it recently and wanted to share it with you!
November has arrived and with it comes the reminder of thankfulness! I enjoy reading what my friends on Facebook are thankful for each day during November. I have never joined in the challenge to list something each day during November because I know I will miss days and get backed up!!
“You Are My I Love You” helps us remember to be thankful
When I think about what I am thankful for….one of my biggest thanks is always for my children!! I am sure that most parents would list their children very high on their list of blessings if not at the very top!
My husband and I have endured some rough patches the past couple of years with one of our sweet blessings. We have learned up close and personal that parenting is not easy. Despite the emotional roller coaster of parenting, we are still thankful for each of our children and we know they are a blessing from God even on the hard days!
One thing this poem reminds me of is the difference between adults and children. I know that I am guilty of trying to hurry my toddler up or wanting one of my older kids to act more mature, etc. This is a great reminder for me that they are just children and they won't do things like an adult would!
As parents we do need to be that quiet and calm place for our children in this crazy world. We need to be the anchor that they can lean on. They need to know that even though they may not like our rules…we are a constant and steady place that they can run when they are unsure!
