ravioli and meatball casserole

Who is busy this month?  Need a really fast and easy dinner recipe?  You have come to the right place!  I have been kind of “tired” of cooking lately.  Do you ever feel like that?  I hope I am not the only one.  I was out shopping and saw some frozen cheese ravioli and I decided to throw this easy Ravioli and Meatball Casserole together and it was a hit!

Ingredients Needed for Ravioli and Meatball Casserole

1 pound frozen ravioli flavor of your choice (you can use a little more depending on the size bag you find)

16 ounce bag of frozen meatballs—Italian or homestyle

24 ounce jar of spaghetti sauce

2 cups of mozzarella cheese

How to Make Ravioli and Meatball Casserole

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

In a 9 x 13 baking pan spread about 1/2 cup of spaghetti sauce on the bottom of the pan.

Put frozen ravioli into the pan.  Spread them out evenly in the baking pan.

Add the frozen meatballs to the pan.

Pour the remaining spaghetti sauce over the ravioli and meatballs.  Use a spoon to make sure everything gets covered a little bit.

Optional:  I put about 3/4 cup of water into my spaghetti jar and swirled it around to get all the extra sauce out of the jar.  I added this liquid to my pan to make sure I had plenty of sauce to cook the ravioli and meatballs in.  I don't think this would be required, but it is how I did it.

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top.

Cover tightly with heavy-duty foil.

Bake for 45 minutes.

Easy No Prep Dinner

I loved that this was an easy NO PREP dinner.  There is no browning involved and it only took one pan to make this meal!  It turned out really delicious and the whole family loved it.  This is such a great meal to make when you just don't have the energy to be fancy.  I added some garlic bread and steamed broccoli for a yummy, simple meal.

We really enjoy this easy recipe for just the two of us or prepared in advance for dinner guests. Having viewed several versions of directions, I like this one the best because it does not suggest boiling the ravioli or thawing the pre-cooked frozen meatballs. I’ve prepared it with thawed meatballs or boiled pasta and it honestly is NOT necessary, so thank you for sharing the easy and very tasty lasagna recipe.
