Yes…we did fall for the NuWave Oven Infomercial a couple of years ago….BUT it is one of my FAVORITE appliances! I use it a LOT! So if you you have a NuWave or are thinking of getting one and aren't sure what you would use it for…I will share with you what I think are the best foods to make in the NuWave Oven!
I can say that I really don't know the in's and out's of how the NuWave Oven works….it uses conduction, convection and infrared all together…whatever that means, LOL! What I do know is that it cooks foods evenly, fairly quickly and a lot of foods taste better in the Nuwave Oven.

Best Foods to Make in the NuWave Oven
Bacon Wrapped Chicken is the perfect meal to make in the NuWave Oven
If I am going to eat bacon it has to get crispy…really crispy. The fatty parts of bacon will just gag me otherwise…ask my family, lol! The grill rack allows all the grease from the bacon to drip down into the liner pan. This helps the bacon get crispy and the dish is healthier because you don't have any of that excess fat! Somehow the chicken stays moist while the bacon is crispy! This recipe is AMAZING! (excuse my photography…this was one of my very first blog posts!)
Tator Tots are perfect in the Nuwave Oven
Tator tots usually aren't as good at home as they are at Sonic. I am here to tell you that I actually like my frozen tator tots better at home in the NuWave then I do from Sonic! Missing out on all that oil and grease from Sonic is okay with me. My tator tots are so crispy in the NuWave Oven! I like to put a layer of foil on top of the grill tray and put the tots on that to cook! YUMMY!
Smoked Sausage, Hot Links and Brats taste amazing in the Nuwave Oven
I love a simple meal of smoked sausage, hot links or brats with a baked potato and some veggies. It is so easy to throw the meal on the grill of the NuWave oven. The excess grease drips down and out of the way…you get the grill marks like you went outside to the real grill….the meat is moist inside and cooked perfectly on the outside!
Grilled Chicken is a moist treat in the NuWave Oven
Grilled chicken breasts or tenders are a healthy addition to dinner and all I have to do is throw some seasoning on the chicken and put it on the grill rack of the NuWave Oven. I can even put FROZEN chicken in to cook….and since I don't always remember to thaw it out in the morning…this is a big help for me! The chicken turns out moist and yummy!
Kid Friendly Foods are quick to make in the NuWave Oven
I don't like to heat up the oven to make 10 chicken nuggets for my younger kids. The NuWave makes it so easy to just throw a few items on the rack. In a few minutes they are done to perfection and I didn't heat up the whole kitchen! This is a time and energy saver for me. Chicken nuggets, fish sticks, corn dogs, french fries, pizza rolls, etc. are all great on the NuWave Oven.
Hamburgers are a regular item on our NuWave Oven
My hubby works long hours and I don't want him to have to slave over a grill when he gets home. Before we got our NuWave Oven we just didn't grill out much…but now we have hamburgers regularly. This is a meal everyone likes and it is easy to make inside! I just put fresh or frozen hamburger patties on the grill rack and all that excess grease drips down. Tthey are a little healthier without that excess grease. I flip them halfway through just like on an outdoor grill…they are so much moister then the ones we had on our outdoor grill!
Bacon comes out perfect in the NuWave Oven
I think you can see that one of my favorite functions of the NuWave Oven is the grill rack and how the grease and fat drip down and off the food. I only cook my bacon in the NuWave Oven now. It comes out crispy and perfect and all that yucky grease has dripped away!
Roasting Veggies in the NuWave Oven is a treat
We like to eat roasted veggies with dinner. It is easy to throw the veggies into the NuWave with some seasoning and they just roast away. It is easy to keep on eye on them and get them just right with the clear dome so you can watch while they cook!
Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos are a great appetizer to make in the NuWave Oven
This is one of my favorite appetizers to make because these are just plain delicious! When I started making these in the NuWave Oven they became so much better. It just cooks them perfectly and all the grease is gone!

Hi! I have a NuWave Brio 14 qt air fryer oven and I’m having trouble finding basic recipes for it. Any ideas? Looking for one to make fresh corn on the cob in it right now. Ugh! Why so few recipes for the air fryer oven models.
These look great. I also do thick potato fries in my NuWave. My family LOVES them. Looking forward to more recipes from you. 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting Cissy! I love connecting with people who use their Nuwave’s!! I hope to post more Nuwave specific recipes soon!
I am on my second Oven. I now have the pro. I still am constantly looking for recipes. I need to find more for baking deserts tho. Thanks for the recipes.
I would love to get a 2nd oven so I can cook even more at once…but not enough counter space, LOL! Thanks so much for stopping by…I will be posting more Nuwave Recipes in the future!
Hi! I invested in two nuwaves and let me tell you, it was the best thing ever! Holiday cooking is so much easier. I have the turkey in one and the am able to make the sides at the same time! I make the pies in the nuwave as well while everyone I eating! Anyone that only ha one nuwave is missing out on the possibilities. Thanks so much for the recipes that I have not tried yet 🙂
I have had my Nuwave Oven a week ago and found all my old stand by recipes work better in the Nuwave Oven. I have made bacon and chicken breasts from frozen as you mentioned but also quiche, squash chips, and roasted eggplant for babagounsh. It is the best appliance I ever bought.
Hi Elizabeth…so glad you love your Nuwave as much as I do!! It really is great!! I will have to try some of your ideas. Thanks for reading!!
Hi, I am glad I found your posts about the Nuwave Oven. My boyfriend bought one because he hates cooking and cleaning. Now he cooks all the time and it is really easy to clean up. So far he has cooked Omaha pork chops, tater tots, fish stix and stead, they all have turned out delicious. I was very envious of his new toy, so he bought me one. I have 3 older kids that live at home and besides using it to heat up quick foods, I think I can cook alot of family meals in this. I can’t wait to experiment. I would like to try roasting a chicken in it, and I would also like to make the chicken shishkobob someone else posted. I love roasted veggies to so can’t wait to try that.
I love mine so much and am even thinking of getting a 2nd one so I can make more food all at the same time!! I am glad you like yours too!! I am hoping to get more Nuwave recipes up soon!
i got it for a present, hands down one of the best presents i have ever gotten! tomorrow i’m making salmon on it for the first time
It really is an awesome machine! I would love to hear how your salmon turns out…I haven’t tried that before!
I use mine for whole roasted chicken – it comes out just like the rotisserie chicken at the supermarket. Also roast a lot of qtr chickens for dinner which comes out great.
That is good to know!
I use mt Nuwave oven for pre-cooking a dozen or so frozen hamburger patties at a time (4 patties per batch), placing them on parchment paper on a baking sheet. Once all 12 are done, I flash freeze then in my upright freezer, then remove them and place them in a ziplock freezer bag. When I decide I want cheeseburgers for lunch at work, I take out 2 patties, place them on the buns (frozen), add cheese, and EOS them in a paper towel. Then I place them in a ziplock freezer bag with whatever else I opt to take with them. At lunch time, I wrap each patty in a few paper towels and nuke each one separately for 45 seconds. Then I place it back on the bun, replace the cheese, and place the entire burger in the microwave with the top bun laying to the side if the rest of the burger, and nuke it for an extra 15 seconds. Add your toppings, and enjoy a delicious cheeseburger for lunch in just a few minutes!
I also like to bake boneless skinless chicken breasts in my Nuwave!
My nuwave is my go to while camping. We made delicious baked potatoes. Steak. Chicken, pork chops and lions comes out so tender and juicy. Haven’t tried making pasta yet. Seen that we could put any bakeware in the nuwave to cook. Can’t wait to try using bakeware.
My brother bought a used NW for $10 recently so I’ve been seeking recipes. One of the legs of the tall rack broke and we’ve been propping up that side with a coffee mug. Then we started looking for replacement parts and they cost way more than $10. Went to Goodwill today and found an updated version with tons of added racks and stuff for $14. Yay! I never saw the infomercials but I love this thing! I’m really grateful every time I find Nu-Wave specific recipes. Thanks!
What a great deal! We have had ours for YEARS and it is getting old. My in-laws bought one some years back and never used it so they gave it to us. So I have a back up for when mine dies!
Pork loin came out perfect
