I have found that Izea is great for small blogs. If you are reading this post you are probably a blogger who is just starting out or your blog is still small. I am still a small blogger compared to many!
As I began to monetize my blog I was very intimidated by the large blog networks. I knew it would be very hard to get sponsored posts and other paid opportunities with my numbers hovering between 6,000 to 10,000 pageviews per month or less at times.
In the beginning of blog monetization…every little bit helps! I didn't expect to make much if any money blogging my first year. As I am nearing my 1 year blogging anniversary…I am excited to say that I have made a little bit of money. Remember…little is the keyword here, LOL! 🙂
I have joined quite a few blog networks and I can honestly say that Izea was the first to offer me some paying jobs as a small blogger! Many of the networks have really high page view requirements in order to even apply for opportunities. It can be discouraging when you are too small to even apply.
Why Izea is Great for Small Blogs
Izea is easy to join. It didn't take me long to set up my account. It was simple and there were some tutorials available to make it a breeze. It is very important to link your social media accounts because many of the bids are for social media!
There are 3 plans you can choose from: Free, Standard and Pro. The Standard Plan has a cost of $1 per month. The Pro Plan has a cost of $5 per month. I have done the Standard Plan since I joined. I have heard that there is not any real reason to pay the extra for the Pro Plan.
I got my first opportunity quickly with Izea. Now…I admit it was only for a few dollars…but for a newer blogger a few dollars is where you have to start!
Most of the open bids that are offered to me are for sponsored tweets. These are very quick to do and you basically get paid for a couple of minutes of work. This is nice when you are a newer blogger and you need to spend as much time as possible writing good quality posts for your blog. My understanding is that I am only shown opportunities that I qualify for…so I have no idea what kind of open bids other bloggers are being shown!
You can request a payment from your earnings whenever you want as long as you have enough in your account. The Standard Plan allows you to withdraw a minimum of $50, but if you really need the money, you can cash out early for a $2 fee.
I don't think you will get rich with Izea, but I think it is a good place to start! I have gotten regular work from them and it is all quick and easy. I have read about a blogger who makes a full time income with Izea! She is obviously getting a lot more offers than just sponsored tweets! 🙂
My advice is to log in once a day to check for new open bids. I don't bid on everything available, but pick bids that I am comfortable sharing with my followers. I have done bids for IHG, Tide, HP, Chobani, Samsung at Walmart, Sam's Club, Dollar General and more! It is obvious that a lot of big name brands are using Izea.

I am with Izea, but I have the free account, I haven’t gotten any offers, so I stopped looking and began with SVERVE, I do get sponsored Tweets with them, and working to build my Social Media accounts so that I can get higher paying jobs. I need to pay for the Standard IZEA account and see what happens. Thanks for the nudge!!
I would try the $1 plan and see if it makes a difference! Hope you start getting some offers!!
This one is new to me ,but sounds like an awesome starting point. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve signed up with Izea but haven’t “won” a bid yet. Maybe it’s because I’m in Canada?
You shared some great information here.
Thanks for sharing (and for linking up to the #SHINEbloghop).
Wishing you a lovely day.

Izea is by far my favorite as well!
I just joined Izea today! I placed a bid on a sponsored instagram post so hopefully I get it! Thanks for the info 🙂
