This quote about a life above reproach is so good! I wonder…if every single person lived their life this way what our world would be like! I honestly think we could do away with prisons, armies, weapons, etc. What a wonderful place it would be!
Who Has Lived a Life Above Reproach
I have known only one person that I would say lived a life above reproach….her name was Virginia….she was my grandmother, or as we lovingly called her…Grammy.
Now my Grammy wasn't perfect, but she was the closest thing I have seen in my 40 years on earth. She taught me many lessons over the years, but one lesson stands out to me….she talked to me about living a life above reproach. I also watched her living example of this principle!
My Grammy had a very strong Christian faith. She was not someone who lived one way at home and then went to church and acted a different way. She lived out her faith in everything she did.
She made a conscious choice to not do certain things because she felt that it could be a poor witness to others about her faith. For instance….you would never find a clear cup with cream soda in it sitting next to her….she felt that someone could mistake it for beer and she might be a stumbling block to another person.
Some people would say that is taking it a little too far, but she felt strongly about the Bible's teachings. There are several verses that talk about being a stumbling block to others in the Bible. The verse in 2 Corinthians 6:3, “We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.” was one that she took to heart!
When I read the quote above…the first thing that came to my mind was my Grammy. I can honestly say that I don't recall ever hearing a bad word spoken about her. If I had…I doubt I would have believed it!
I think this quote is something that every human should strive for! Character traits are so valuable in society! If more people tried to live a life above reproach it would be a much kinder world!
I will never be the example that my Grammy was, but her lessons and wisdom still live on in my mind and I strive to put them into practice in my life! I look forward to seeing her again one day!

This quote is great. I have been struggling with some grumpiness at work and began to think that I should change how I approach things. This quote makes me want to keep ding my best in a positive manner instead of stooping to the negative behavior.

Beautiful quote!
My gram was mine. She was amazingly non-judgmental, accepting of others and kind. If I only have half the traits she had, I feel blessed. 🙂
Your grandmother sounds like she was an amazing woman indeed. I don’t know anyone this good about living above reproach. It makes you think about what you are doing before you do anything though. Thanks for sharing.
