Seasoning Mix Storage

Seasoning Mix Storage

I started making a lot of my own seasoning mixes several years ago.  For a long time my seasoning mix storage was kind of laughable!  I would put the mixes into plastic storage containers…like the ones shredded turkey comes in from the store.  These took up a lot of space in my cabinet and just weren't very efficient…not to mention not at all attractive!

How to Make Seasoning Mix Storage Easy

One day I was out and about and saw these glass storage containers like you use to pour sugar at a diner!  I thought they would work great for my homemade seasoning mix storage issue!

One nice thing about these glass containers is that you can make up a pretty big batch of seasoning mix!  I like to make a lot up at once and then I will have it for several months.  This saves me a bunch of time.  These containers hold almost 2 cups of seasoning mix.

I wanted to make these a little bit cuter and so I bought some of the adorable adhesive chalkboard labels.  All you do is stick the label on and write what you want on the label with chalk.  The great part is that you can always change the container to a different spice mixture and just write a new name on the label!

  1. I love homemade spices and your chalkboard labels are really cool. Will definitely incorporate them in my kitchen…thanks for sharing!

  2. I don’t have any spice recipes to share, and I haven’t made my own before. However, I do like buying my own jars and making decorative labels for specialty mixes that I buy online or get from bulk foods at the health food store.
