- One of our former presidents, Calvin Coolidge, was born on July 4th.
- July 4th wasn't a national holiday until 1870.
- Fireworks have been shot off since the earliest celebrations.
- John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4, 1826.
- Several other countries have used the Declaration of Independence in their own struggles for freedom.
- The Star Spangled Banner was originally a poem.
