I never get sick of watching the Grinch at Christmas time. With a new Grinch movie out this year it is a great time to make some easy Grinch Cookies. These are made with Nutter Butter cookies or something similar and are super tasty!
Grinch Cookies
Grinch cookies are something the kids will want to help make. These are also a wonderful treat for class Christmas parties at school.
You could even get really creative and throw a Grinch party during December…or have a Grinch movie night! So many fun ideas to make Christmas a little merrier!
How to Make Grinch Cookies With Nutter Butter Cookies
First line a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper.
In a small microwave safe bowl, melt 2 cups of the green candy melts. It is best to warm these on 50% power in your microwave. It typically takes 3-4 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds or so until melted and smooth.
Place a Nutter Butter cookie into the melted green chocolate. Make sure all sides are covered.
Use a fork to remove from the chocolate and allow the excess chocolate to drip down through the tines of the fork! Unless you like all that extra chocolate on your Grinch cookies, LOL.
Place each coated cookie onto the baking sheet and add two yellow M&M’s for eyes. Yes—you do have to pick out the yellow M&M's! 🙂 The Grinch wouldn't be the Grinch if he had red, blue or orange eyes!
Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 10 minutes when you have finished this process for each cookie.
While the cookies are setting up in the freezer go ahead and melt about a cup of the cocoa candy melts in the microwave. This will take 2-3 minutes on 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds until melted and smooth.
Scoop your melted cocoa melts into a decorating bag and draw a dot on each eye and draw the Grinch’s face like in the pictures.
***Time Saving Tip: if you don't like the hassle of decorating bags you can buy some food decorator pens and just draw the faces on!! This will be more precise too.
