I found this old oval mirror at Goodwill a few years ago. I finally got around to giving it a Mirror Makeover! I love the way the mirror turned out and it looks great in my daughter's room!
I will walk you through the steps of how I gave this mirror a makeover!
First you want to tape off the mirror portion of the mirror so that only the frame is showing. I did this by taking empty plastic sacks and placing them over the mirror. I taped them down with Frog Painters Tape around the edge of the frame. I was careful to cover the entire mirror portion very well! It only takes a few minutes, but can save you a lot of trouble later!
I wanted to paint my mirror white to match the furniture in my daughter's bedroom. I took a can of spray paint I had sitting in my garage. It was just a cheap can of white spray paint. I did a couple of coats (letting it dry a little bit in between) of white. Then I used a fabulous product called Glitter Blast from Krylon. It was diamond dust color and gave it a glittery look that is wonderful!
My daughter wanted to help me and we did the project together! If you have children that are at least mid-Elementary age they should be able to help do some spraying!
I let it dry really well over night. The end result was amazing! It is hard to believe it is the same mirror! It was such an easy mirror makeover that anyone could do it! I love easy DIY!!
Here is a close up shot of the Glitter Blast so you can see how sweet it looks!
