I love jalapenos and these Bacon, Cheddar & Jalapeno Pinwheels don't disappoint! You may see a trend in my recipes…lots of recipes with jalapenos! I also really like cheese and bacon….so when I saw a recipe for Bacon, Cheddar and Jalapeno Pinwheels over at Yellow Bliss Road…I knew it was one I needed to try. The other great thing about it is the crescent rolls! My husband is sure that you could wrap almost anything in a crescent roll and it would be delicious….and I kind of agree, lol!
These are quick to prepare and make a nice platter when you need an appetizer or snack for a party. It is a fun snack or party food that doesn't take all day to prepare, but that probably won't last long on the platter!
I love recipes that have 5 or fewer ingredients. This recipe falls into that category and it is fairly inexpensive to make.
How to Make Bacon, Cheddar & Jalapeno Pinwheels
You will take 4 oz. of softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons diced jalapenos and 1/3 cup real bacon bits and mix together in a small bowl. You can mix with a spoon or a mixer…your choice!
Next you will take your crescent rolls and lay them out on the counter and press all the seams together so you have one big rectangle. You can also buy the new Pillsbury crescent roll recipe creations which comes already in a big seamless dough sheet! That makes this even easier and quicker to make!
Once your dough is ready, just spread a layer of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough almost to the edges. Sprinkle all but about 2 Tablespoons of the cheddar cheese on top of the cream cheese layer. Then you will roll the dough up lengthwise.
Cut into slices about 3/4 inch wide. Place the slices about 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake for 9-11 minutes at 350 degrees F or until dough starts to brown. Remove from oven and let the Bacon, Cheddar & Jalapeno Pinwheels cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet.

- 1 can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

-
Roll out crescent rolls and press seams together to form one sheet.
-
Put the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough almost to the very edge of the dough.
-
Sprinkle all but about 2 Tablespoons of the shredded cheese on top of the cream cheese layer.
-
Roll the dough up lengthwise.
-
Cut into slices approximately 3/4" and place 2" apart on a cookie sheet lined with foil.
-

If you use a stone cookie sheet I didn't feel the foil was necessary.
