ROASTED SPICY EDAMAME
I admit that I have been behind the times when it comes to edamame. The first time I tried it was last winter on a trip to Hawaii. Once was all it took and I was hooked on this nutty little treat.
I knew this was something I needed to start making at home especially since I am always trying to find healthier snack options, especially during football season.
Tailgating and game day parties are typically full of appetizers that are lacking in any nutritional value. I am very excited to be able to serve something that tastes great and packs a nutritional punch too!

INGREDIENTS FOR SPICY EDAMAME
One great thing about this spicy edamame recipe is that you probably already have all the spices in your pantry. Start keeping frozen edamame in your freezer and you can make this on a whim.
- Frozen Edamame (thawed)
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Black Pepper
- Garlic Powder
- Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
HOW TO MAKE ROASTED SPICY EDAMAME
Once you make these once and see how easy it is you will be hooked!
STEP ONE: SPICE MIX
Start off by preheating the oven to 400 degrees F. The simplest way to make this spicy edamame is to put all the spices and the olive oil into a gallon-size zippered plastic bag. Add the salt, pepper, garlic powder and crushed red pepper flakes to a big zippered bag and then add the olive oil. Mix the spices together with the oil.
STEP TWO: COAT EDAMAME
Now add the thawed edamame to the zippered baggie. Rotate the bag around so that all the edamame get coated in the oil and spice mixture.
STEP THREE: BAKE
Take a large rimmed baking sheet and spread the coated edamame out on the sheet in a single layer. Bake for 20 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes. Remove from oven and serve warm or cold! These are great either way. If you happen to have any leftovers just put into a sealed container.

This roasted spicy edamame is simple to make and has a wonderful kick from the flavorful spices. It is easy to make using frozen edamame.
