Turkey Wonton Cups for Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year is February 16th this year. It is a great learning experience for families with children. Learning about other cultures and the celebrations they hold dear is important for kids.
It is also fun to introduce children to food from other cultures. Our kids already love Asian food so that one is easy for me!!
I knew I wanted some other finger food to go along with our Turkey Wonton Cups and I found the perfect item when I was at the store. Ling Ling Chicken and Vegetable Potstickers were the perfect answer!!
These potstickers are made with delectable chicken and tender veggies. Tender veggies make me SMILE…because honestly…I don't care for crunchy veggies in my cooked food!
Besides the fact that these Ling Ling Chicken and Vegetable Potstickers are just plain DELISH…the package also comes with a Ling Ling signature dipping sauce that WOW'd me…it was so good I wanted to dip anything I could get my hands on in it! I drizzled this sauce on the Turkey Wonton Cups and it was really yummy.
These potstickers really are bursting with the flavors of Asia. I can tell that Ling Ling worked hard to collect authentic recipes from around Asia so that we can experience the best foods possible.
I made these exactly according to the package instructions and they turned out perfect.
Ingredients Needed for Turkey Wonton Cups
1 pound of ground turkey meat
2 Tablespoons Hoisin Sauce
1 cup of diced shredded carrots
2 Tablespoons of soy sauce
2 teaspoons of minced garlic
1 package of wonton wrappers
How to Make Turkey Wonton Cups
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
In a skillet brown the ground turkey meat.
While the meat is browning, spray a mini muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup.
Bake the wonton wrappers in the muffin tins for 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven.
Once the meat is down browning, add the diced carrots, Hoisin sauce, soy sauce and the garlic to the skillet.
Heat this mixture for 5-8 minutes allowing the flavors to blend and the carrots to soften. Stir occasionally.
Remove the baked wonton wrappers from the muffin pan and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Lightly spray the tops of the wonton wrappers with nonstick cooking spray.
Fill each wonton cup with about 1 tablespoon of the meat mixture.
Bake for 5 minutes or until heated through.
