DIY Cat Christmas Ornament

I really don't think cats get the attention they deserve, especially at the holidays.  I see all sorts of stockings for dogs, presents for dogs…but rarely for cats!  I think it is because cats are so independent and don't get their feelings hurt, LOL. I decided my kitties needed something on our tree this year.  I am going to show you how quick and easy it is to make a DIY Cat Christmas Ornament so your furry friend isn't left out.

DIY Cat Christmas Ornament

There are so many crafts you can make that don't require special talents or skills.  This DIY Cat Christmas Ornament falls into that category.  It is just plain EASY and your cat will love what is inside!   😆

Supplies Needed for DIY Cat Christmas Ornament

Clear Plastic or Glass Ornament that you can fill

Ribbon

Embellishments of your choice

Letter Stickers if desired

Cat Treats

How to Make a DIY Cat Christmas Ornament

Take your clear ornament and start off by putting your cat treats inside.  I grabbed some Friskies Party Mix when I was at Dillons recently.  These fit inside easily and my cats love them!

I grabbed these square ornaments because I knew my cat's name would look great on the outside.  I used some letter stickers and spelled out my kitty's name (yes..one of my cats is named Salt :)).  I also saw a cute pack of cat stickers and used the paw prints for some added flair!

I couldn't pass up the cat washi tape.  I tore a couple of small pieces and stuck them on the ornament!  Too CUTE!

The top of the ornament is a great place to add some ribbon and frills.  Cut the ribbon to the desired length and tie it on the top.  I also just used ribbon as the ornament hanger to keep it simple.DIY Cat Christmas Ornament

Christmas Morning Will be a Treat for the Cats

The perfect part of this DIY Cat Christmas Ornament is that it is HOLDING a special treat inside!  So on Christmas morning you can take the ornament off the tree and you kitty can feel special that they weren't forgotten.

I am so glad I can find the cat food and cat treats I need at Dillons and I don't have to make another stop at a specialty store…especially this month!!  It is only the busiest month EVER!DIY Cat Christmas Ornament

My kitties will have their regular morning breakfast….enjoying the filler-free yumminess of Fancy Feast Purely and then they will be ready to play in all the ribbons, bows and wrapping paper my kids are throwing all over the house! I can't wait to see how they react when I take their treat ornaments off the tree!

  1. This is a great idea- EXCEPT my cat already tries to eat the tree, without treats inside it! Haha- maybe Santa can hang this Christmas Eve. #client

  2. This is such a unique idea, and I love it. My cat would kill the tree if I did this! She already knocks down all the ball ornaments, so she’d definitely be after those treats. This is so cute though!!
