Good Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Kids

I remember the thrill of digging into my stocking on Christmas morning. One Christmas stands out to me as the best Christmas of my childhood.  There were always lots of goodies in our stockings and I have tried to replicate that with my kids.

We have pretty stockings my mom made for us that hang on the mantel. Unfortunately, I like to fill the stockings UP and I don't have enough room in these stockings. I keep a back up of those BIG stockings you can buy so that I can fit larger items inside!

These good stocking stuffer ideas for kids are things that are universally liked by both boys and girls.  Items that are no-fail and will make most kids happy.

Plush Toys are Always a Hit

My kids have all LOVED plush toys. They name them, play with them, sleep with them and some plush toys will be kept for life!

I am really excited to fill my children's stockings with Moosh-Moosh Plushies  this year. When I first saw these at my local Michaels store I knew my girl's would LOVE them.

Moosh-Moosh Plushies are SO incredibly soft and squishy. The little faces just make you want to cuddle them and the variety of sizes and styles is awesome.

There are 4-inch clip-ons, 7-inch regular size, and the 10-inch ultimate size. I will definitely be putting a regular or ultimate size in the girls' stockings this year…I can't wait to see their faces when they see the sweet Moosh-Moosh Plushie sticking out of the top of the stocking!

You can grab your own Moosh-Moosh Plushies at Staples, AC Moore, Party City, CVS, and Michaels.

Craft Supplies Breed Creativity

All of my kids…even my son…love getting craft supplies. Now I used to buy different types of supplies for my son then I did my daughter's, but they all still like being creative.

The great thing about craft supplies is that they are usually a size that fits in a stocking. The options are also endless…so many products to choose from!

Gift Cards Never Go Out Of Style

It is kind of a tradition that I put a gift card in each stocking. The kids have come to LOVE getting a gift card at Christmas. Even my youngest kids like it.

Going shopping right after Christmas with their gift cards lets them pick something they want and it is usually ON SALE! Gift cards also make great last-minute items.

You can bulk up the card by putting it in a small box and wrapping it.

Games & Puzzles

Most kids like to play games or work on puzzles. I love visiting small privately-owned toy stores because they have those unusual games you don't see at the mainstream stores.

Learning a new card or dice game is a great activity to do over Christmas break and it can bring the whole family together!

We tried out a fun new game recently called Not Parent Approved. Don't let the name fool you…this is a very family-friendly game and it will generate a lot of laughs. It was inspired by Cards Against Humanity but is 100% kid-friendly. You can get the main game and also expansion packs so you never get bored!

I love that the company gives back too. They are giving one hundred percent of the proceeds from the limited-edition video game expansion packto benefit the global charity, Wheels for Humanity. This charity provides appropriately fitted wheelchairs for children and adults with physical disabilities.

This is also a very portable game and is perfect for taking on road trips.

Books Will Help Encourage a Love for Reading

My kids will receive a book in their stocking almost every year. These are books they can read for fun and don't have to be monitored by their teachers.

Giving your kids fun books to read can really help them develop a love for reading. It's fun to get Christmas-themed books for younger kids and maybe give the first book in a series to older kids. Once they're hooked on the series, it's easy to give more books for birthdays, Easter baskets, and even next Christmas!

One of my girls has a series going right now that will make for some easy stocking

FUN AND BOUNCY

Another super fun stocking stuffer idea is the Ty Beanie Bouncers! These are adorable and very fun to bounce and throw. They come in so many different designs. You won't have any trouble finding one that is a perfect fit for your special person. They are also the best size for a stocking.
