Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is one of my favorite sweet breads! I am a big fan of bread…and really love sweet moist slices of bread lathered in butter! YUMMY!!
There are lots of ways to make banana bread and it is a pretty quick and easy dessert to whip up. I think most people would agree that adding chocolate is almost always going to make a recipe better! This banana bread is no different! The addition of chocolate chips adds a lovely element to an already delicious sweet bread!
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is Amazing
I made a minor adaption to Liza's recipe over at Salu Salo Recipes. She has an easy no fuss recipe for Chocolate Chip Banana Bread that I found to be a winner!
I usually only make banana bread when I have ripe bananas that I need to use up. This Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is good enough to make on purpose though! I may actually buy ripe bananas in order to make this recipe!
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is a Great Way to Use Up Ripe Bananas!
Last month I had made a loaf of regular banana bread one week and most of it had been eaten, but not all…so there was about a 1/3 of the loaf left on the bar. I had more bananas to use up and decided to try out this recipe the next week. The Chocolate Chip Banana Bread was literally gone by the next morning! Needless to say I will be doubling the batch next time I make it so that I can get more than one slice!
Great Bread for Gifting
This recipe makes one loaf of bread in a 9 x 5 loaf pan. You could also make this bread for gifts and use a multiple mini loaf pan or even easier disposable mini loaf pans! Add a ribbon around the bread for a pretty and delicious gift!
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Grease a 9 inch x 5 inch loaf pan.
Mash bananas in a large mixing bowl.
Stir in sugar and slightly beaten egg.
Combine the rest of the ingredients (except 1 cup of chocolate chips) in the bowl and stir until well blended.
Pour mixture into your greased loaf pan.
Sprinkle your remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips on the top of your batter.
Bake for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out of the center of the bread clean.
Let cool for around 10 minutes before removing from the loaf pan.
You can omit the extra chocolate chips on the top if you want...but they make it so much better! 🙂
Every oven cooks a little differently...cooking times can vary based on your oven!
