TELLING KIDS ABOUT MARDI GRAS
I visited New Orleans a few years ago and had such a lovely time. I didn't go during Mardi Gras, but I can only imagine how what it must be like! Mardi Gras is a very unique celebration.
If you want to talk to your kids about the history of Mardi Gras it is easy to do while they are getting creative with these Mardi Gras coloring pages.
The very first Mardi Gras celebration was held in 1699. The French-Canadian explorer Jean Baptiste Le Moyne Sieur de Bienville brought the idea with him since it was something that occurred in medieval Europe.
The Mardi Gras celebration has undergone many changes over the years. Here are some interesting facts of info to share with kids:

- Louisiana is the only state where Mardi Gras is an official holiday.
- It is typically a week-long festival.
