There are even more Weight Watchers changes in 2023. Change seems to be the name of the game with Weight Watchers lately. It is hard to keep up!

WEIGHT WATCHERS CLOSING STUDIOS IN 2023
People who love in-person meetings will be disappointed to hear that even more studios will be closing. These are locations across the country that are in a fixed location with a rented space. This is also affecting Canada and possibly other countries as well.
The company seems to be getting ready to offer something they are calling In-Real Life experiences…but hasn't given a lot of info about what these will be. Their CEO seems to still see value in people meeting face-to-face.
There are 300 locations closing, and from my research, people who were attending these locations in person received an email from WW Corporate to tell them about the closing.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY LOCATION IS CLOSING?
If you didn't receive an email but are still unsure if your WW studio is closing…you can do an easy zip code search.
Just go to the home page of Weight Watchers website. Along the very top of the website on the right, it says, “find a workshop.” Just click this button, and you can enter your zip code.
It will bring up a list of the nearest in-person meetings and their status. The studio nearest me is closing.
HOW DOES THIS AFFECT LIFETIME WW MEMBERS
One of the ways people maintain their lifetime status with Weight Watchers if by weighing in each month in person. Many lifetime members are concerned about how they will be able to keep their lifetime status if there are no locations to weigh in.
The company hasn't released a long-term solution for this, but right now, it appears that lifetime members are automatically being given a year's extension.
If you are a lifetime member who has questions, I would advise you to give the company's customer service a call or do a live chat on their site. The number to call is 1-800-651-6000.
WEIGHT WATCHERS NEW MEDICAL PLAN 2023
The biggest news for 2023 is the fact that Weight Watchers is going to have a medical plan side that will offer prescription weight loss medications. This is a BIG change and something they have never done before.
They purchased a telehealth platform called Sequence. This will allow members who would like to explore medication to access it through telehealth.
Weight loss medications are controversial, but WW feels they do play a part in some people in their fight against obesity. Combining lifestyle changes with medication may be the best choice for some members.
It will be later this spring or even summer before this is completely rolled out. If you have an interest in this, you can join a waitlist, and you will be notified when it is available.
STAY CONNECTED
With so many changes happening and fewer opportunities to connect in person…it is even more important to connect in any way we can.
A simple way to connect with others who are following the Weight Watchers program is to join my private Weight Watchers Facebook group. You can share your wins and struggles and help others too!

I have been a lifetime member since 1983 and I think it is appalling that you are doing “medications” the whole concept of WW was how to learn to eat properly and maintain a healthy weight
If one wanted to “diet” (which does not work) they would not join WW
