A new year is approaching and that means some WW changes for 2021. Weight Watchers is always trying to improve and evolve and that brings a few updates for the coming year.
WW+ IS HERE
The big change for WW is the addition of WW+.
WW+ is a more personal approach that helps with our WHOLE person and the issues we may be facing that can impact our weight loss efforts.
“They want more support, they want more motivation, they want more inspiration but they want what they need,” WW President and CEO Mindy Grossman told USA TODAY. “And they want a certain amount of personal accountability.”
The company realizes that people are dealing with a LOT of stuff, especially with the pandemic. They are trying to meet us where we are and offer more support in all areas of our lives.
WILL THE FOOD PLANS CHANGE?
The GOOD news is that the 3 food plans are NOT changing! I am so glad this is not one of the WW changes for 2021.
There are still the options of the Blue, Purple and Green plans.
NEW APP TOOLS
The WW+ app will have some new tools to make our lives even easier.
One tool is a meal planner tool.
Another new tool is the “what's in your fridge” tool to help you know what you have to eat at home.
A personalized “Weekly Check-in” on the WW app will provide a holistic view of progress. It creates a progress report and then a plan for the week by suggesting “actionable” goals.
The activity experience has been redesigned so members have a new way to view and understand daily activity, weekly goals and progress over time. There are also on-demand equipment-free workouts through in-app content from FitOn and Aaptiv.
WW is helping our mindset by offering new 5-Minute Coaching sessions with science based techniques to help us manage our eating and our stress.
We will also get some help with our sleep with a sleep tracker.
USE THE WW APP!
The WW+ app is going to be a great tool and the more we use the app the better results we can get.
The app will be able to personalize our program the more we use it…because it uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
If you aren't a member of WW I think it is worth it!!
WW CHANGES FOR 2021
The WW changes for 2021 are focused on the key areas of wellness: food, activity, mindset and sleep.
I like the company's continued efforts to realize that our overall health is important and it isn't just the number on the scale.

Being connected to other people is a big key to success for anything in life.
