Air Fryer BBQ Chicken Pizza will make homemade pizza night a breeze at your house. This Weight Watchers friendly barbeque chicken pizza is ready in minutes and is a great way to use up leftover chicken breasts.
WHAT KIND OF CRUST IS USED FOR AIR FRYER PIZZA?
There are many different kinds of crust you can use to make pizza in the air fryer. I love to make simple pizzas using bagels as my crust. You can turn tortillas into pizza crusts…it is easy to get creative when it comes to pizza.
This homemade barbeque chicken pizza uses a healthy option for the crust that also tastes great!
Joseph’s Lavash Bread is full of flax, oat bran, and whole wheat. It is also low in calories and fairly low in carbs. The best part is that this bread can quickly be turned into a flatbread pizza for a quick dinner.
I am able to find this at Walmart, but it is also very easy to order it online if you don’t have it at a store near you! The bread freezes very well so it isn’t a problem to order a larger quantity.
INGREDIENTS FOR AIR FRYER BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA
This is a very simple recipe that only requires five ingredients! I love low ingredient recipes…the less time in the kitchen the better!
- Joseph’s Lavash Bread
- Sugar-Free BBQ Sauce (I love making this homemade sugar-free BBQ sauce—it is so good!)
- Shredded Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
- Red Onion
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Cilantro to garnish (optional)
HOW TO MAKE WW BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA
Making this WW BBQ Chicken Pizza is so easy…it would be a great recipe for kids to help with. You will love how the air fryer cooks this pizza and gives you a nice crispy crust.
STEP ONE: PREPARE CRUST
Start off by cutting both the lavash bread in half. The full-sized bread will not fit into an air fryer basket because it is a big rectangle and the basket is typically going to be a square.
Half of a lavash bread will be the serving size for this recipe so it works out great.
Spread approximately 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce on each lavash bread half.
STEP TWO: ADD CHEESE
Now sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of mozzarella cheese on top of the BBQ sauce on the lavash bread.
*If you are following the Weight Watchers program it is important to measure the cheese so your points are accurate for the serving size.
Those of you not on WW can feel free to add EXTRA cheese if you like your pizza cheesy.
STEP THREE: ADD CHICKEN & ONIONS
Top each lavash bread half with 1/4 cup of cooked, shredded chicken breast and 1/8 cup of shredded red onions.
If you are not a fan of onions (like me, LOL) you can leave the onions off!
Lastly, add another 2 tablespoons of mozzarella cheese to the top! YUMMY!
STEP FOUR: AIR FRY
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
Place one of the prepared lavash pizza halves in the air fryer basket.
Air fry for 5 minutes.
Repeat with the remaining pizza halves.
Top the air fryer BBQ chicken pizza with cilantro to garnish, if desired.
WEIGHT WATCHERS POINTS FOR HOMEMADE BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA
If you are following the Weight Watcher program this air fryer bbq chicken pizza is a great lunch or dinner option. It is filling and low in points. The serving size is 1/2 half of the lavash bread.
The blue and purple plan is 4 points per serving.
The green plan is 5 points per serving.

- 2 Joseph’s Lavash Bread cut into half
- ½ cup Sugar Free BBQ Sauce
- 1 cup cooked boneless skinless chicken breast shredded
- ½ cup red Onion sliced
- 1 cup part skimmed Mozzarella cheese shredded
- Cilantro to garnish, if desired
Cut each the lavash bread in to half, so that it fits in the air fryer.
Spread about 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce on each lavash half.
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of mozzarella cheese on top of the BBQ sauce.
Top each half with 1/4 cup of cooked, shredded chicken and 1/8 cup of sliced red onion.
Sprinkle the top with another 2 tablespoons of mozzarella cheese. Each lavash bread half will get 4 tablespoons of mozzarella cheese.
Preheat your air fryer to 400F, if your air fryer has a preheat option. If not, ignore this step.
Carefully place one lavash half in the air fryer basket.
Air fry at 400°F for 5 minutes or until cheese is nicely melted and the crust is lightly browned and crispy . Remove from the air fryer.
Repeat with the remaining lavash pizza halves.
Garnish with torn cilantro leaves, if desired. Serve immediately.
Weight Watchers Points for 1/2 of a lavash.
Blue and Purple plans are 4 points per serving. Green plan is 5 points per serving.
