These easy homemade air fryer pizza pockets will become a favorite for the whole family. A simple recipe to customize for individual tastes and perfect for lunch or dinner.
3 INGREDIENT DOUGH PIZZA POCKETS
If you are on the Weight Watchers program you have probably heard of 2 ingredient dough. It is a versatile dough that can be made into MANY different recipes and is a great low-point way to get some bread onto our plate.
This air fryer pizza pocket recipe uses 2 ingredient dough as the bread and it turns out wonderful. There is no guilt involved in eating these WW pizza pockets!
I did modify the 2 ingredient dough recipe a tad bit to add some more flavor, but no extra points or calories!
INGREDIENTS FOR AIR FRYER HOT POCKETS
Whether you call these pizza pockets, hot pockets or calzones, they are all delicious and the crust comes out crunchy and perfect in the air fryer!
- Self-Rising Flour
- Fat-Free Greek Yogurt
- Salt
- Pizza Sauce
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Turkey Pepperoni
- Egg
- Water
HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER PIZZA POCKETS
Pizza pockets are simple to make and it is nice knowing exactly what is inside these homemade pizza pockets.
It doesn't take much extra time to make the dough yourself and you save a lot of calories and artificial ingredients.
STEP ONE: MAKE DOUGH
In a mixing bowl, add the flour, salt, and yogurt and mix well until it forms a dough.
If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour and keep kneading with your hands, till it forms a smooth dough.
STEP TWO: DIVIDE DOUGH
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a smooth round ball. This will make 4 hot pockets in total.
Roll the dough balls into rough rectangle shapes, about 5 inches long, and 3 inches wide. Trim the sides with a knife to get clean straight edges.
STEP THREE: ADD FILLING
Spread about a tablespoon of pizza sauce in the middle of one rectangle of dough. Make sure to leave a border around the edges so the filling doesn't leak out while it is cooking.
Place about 2 tablespoons of shredded mozzarella, followed by 3 or 4 turkey pepperoni slices.
STEP FOUR: SEAL POCKETS
Place the 2nd rectangle of dough on top of the filling and pinch together the edges. Use the end of a fork to crimp all the sides together.
Repeat this process until all four pizza pockets are assembled.
In a small bowl, beat the egg and water together.
Brush each hot pocket with the egg wash using a pastry brush.
STEP FIVE: AIR FRY
Preheat the air fryer to 370°F.
Spray the air fryer basket lightly with olive oil spray.
Place the hot pockets, in a single layer, in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
Air fry at 370F for 5 minutes.
Flip the pizza pockets over, and air fry again at 370°F for 3 minutes or until golden brown and the dough is cooked completely.
Serve immediately with extra marinara sauce, if desired.

If you are on the WW Plan this is a great recipe and much healthier than a slice of pizza!
Each air fryer pizza pocket is 7 points on all three plans, green, blue, and purple plans.

Air fry at 370°F for 5 minutes. Turn the pizza pockets over and air fry again at 370 F for 3 minutes or until the dough is completely cooked and the pockets are golden brown.

Serve immediately with extra pizza sauce for dipping, if desired.
