ARE CHARCUTERIE BOARDS GOOD FOR PARTIES?

Charcuterie boards are perfect for parties. Most boards offer a variety of foods to please any crowd. Many of the foods are considered “finger foods,” so utensils aren’t always needed.

A charcuterie board can be made small or large. Size the board based on how many people will be at your party. It is nice to put the board in the center of your serving area or table. It looks so nice as a centerpiece that you won’t need any other centerpiece decor.

CAN YOU MAKE A CHARCUTERIE BOARD THE DAY BEFORE A PARTY?

Charcuterie boards can be made up to 24 hours before a birthday party or any event. The key to keeping it fresh and tasty is to wrap the whole board securely with plastic wrap and keep refrigerated.

Remember, if you are making an extra large board, be sure you have room in the refrigerator for the board.

Being able to make this ahead of time frees you up to do other tasks right before the party.

WHAT DOES NOT GO ON A CHARCUTERIE BOARD?

Charcuterie boards are insanely popular right now. I am seeing anything and everything on the boards. People are so creative.

But to truly be a charcuterie board, it needs to have protein, particularly cured meat. So if you are planning a board with only fresh fruit, cheese, and sweets, it can’t be considered a true charcuterie board.

I will say that many of the boards I share aren’t truly authentic charcuterie boards….but that’s okay! 🙂 A good charcuterie board is whatever you want it to be.
