What season is it? You guessed it…FOOTBALL season! What tells me it is football season??? Cool temperatures and good food…specifically good finger foods…like Crab Bite Appetizers. I am trying to keep my spirits up this fall despite the fact that my only son…and only football player has graduated and moved off to college. We are staying busy supporting our local high school football team and of course…watching those big games on TV! Nothing says loving like football, good food and ice-cold Coca-Cola.

Shopping for Big Game Food and Fun
When I am out getting goodies for a big game night…I love to shop at my local Dillons store. I always know I can find what I need there! I was able to grab the Coca-Cola and the RITZ crackers I need for my Crab Bite Appetizers and football party.
Ingredients Needed for Crab Bite Appetizers
1 pound crabmeat (I bought 3 cans of crab meat that were 6 oz each)
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 cup RITZ crackers, crushed (this is approximately 1 and 1/4 tubes of crackers)
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
2 tablespoons dried chopped parsley
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
Butter for melting over the top
How to Make Crab Bite Appetizers
First you want to put your crab meat into a mixing bowl. Be sure to pick through and make sure there are no stray shells fragments in the meat. Biting into a shell in your Crab Bites will really ruin your game day mood, LOL!
Now you want to crush your RITZ crackers. I like to put my RITZ crackers into a large baggie and use my rolling-pin to crush them. This is a fast and easy way to get it done.
Add your crushed RITZ crackers, Old Bay Seasoning and parsley to the bowl.
In a small separate bowl whisk together your egg, mustard, lemon juice and Worcestershire Sauce.
Pour the liquid mixture over your crabmeat ingredients in the mixing bowl.
Gently mix all these ingredients together.
Using your hands, form small balls with the crab meat mixture. Make the balls around the size of a golf ball.
Place these Crab Bites onto a baking sheet and bake for about 30 minutes in an oven at 350 degrees F.
Remove the Crab Bites from the oven and drizzle with melted butter. Put back into the oven for 5 minutes. Turn crab bites over and cook another 5 minutes so the tops start to brown!
Feel free to add a fun football flag to your crab bite appetizers for that game day party!
