HOW TO MAKE DIY RAE DUNN INSPIRED ORNAMENTS FOR CHRISTMAS
If you are a Cricut user and familiar with vinyl then this Christmas craft project will be very easy for you!

STEP ONE: GET FONT
The first step in this DIY Christmas project is downloading the Rae Dunn-inspired font for free. Then you need to import it into your
machines program.
There are two font websites you can find the font style we need. The second font (Cami Rae) will be used for this project.

STEP TWO: TYPE WORDS
Next, open your machine's design program. Download the font into the program.
Type out the words you want on your ornaments. It is best to choose shorter words with 3-5 letters. This will help you make sure the words will fit on the ornaments and aren't too long.
Adjust the size of your text but clicking edit, locking the dimensions and typing in the height to 1” for all letters. The width will automatically adjust and vary based on the number the word chosen and number of letters.

STEP THREE: CUT VINYL
Now it is time to adjust your machine setting or material dial to vinyl.
Load the permanent vinyl onto the light grip mat and load it into the machine.
Cut the words out. Once the cut is done, peel the vinyl from the mat and cut off any extra vinyl, and sit it aside for later use!

STEP FOUR: WEED
Begin to pull the negative vinyl off and away from the letters using your weeding tool.
Now that the weeding is complete cut off a piece of transfer paper the size of your cut vinyl. This will be done to help get your vinyl off the vinyl plastic backing and onto the surface of your project.

STEP FIVE: TRANSFER PAPER
Lay the transfer paper on top of the cut vinyl. Use a scrapper tool and run it over the whole design with pressure.
Turn the entire design facing downwards and begin gently pulling the vinyl
plastic backing off and away from the transfer paper. Starting at a corner and rolling it away slowly while applying pressure is best.
When the vinyl has been successfully transferred, you will be able to see
through the transfer paper with vinyl attached.

STEP SIX: APPLY TO ORNAMENT
Now we will put the vinyl letters onto the ornaments.
Lay the transfer with vinyl lightly on top of your ornament. Do not apply
pressure or smooth down the design until you are 100% happy with the location.
Once you are satisfied with the location of the letters, you can begin to apply pressure and smooth over the design using your scrapper tool.
Once enough pressure had been applied, slowly remove the transfer paper by starting at a corner and very carefully and slowly rolling it away and off the ornament. The vinyl will remain on your project, and you will have adorable DIY Rae Dunn Inspired ornaments!
Add a thin ribbon or string to the ornament so it can be hung on the tree.

STEP SEVEN: PACKAGE
Rae Dunn products are usually packaged so nicely. It is easy to gift these ornaments to friends or loved ones in a way that will resemble an actual Rae Dunn gift.
All you need to do is grab the craft box and add some crinkle paper. Place the ornaments in the box and gift them away!
