Italian sausage lettuce wrap is one of our favorite recipes to make and enjoy during the summer. It is a recipe that is so simple and fast to make that it won’t disappoint.

Not only do I love this recipe because it is full of flavor, but I can also use my favorite garden vegetables and add them to this recipe.

As a beginner gardener who simply enjoys growing her own veggies, with this recipe I can put my efforts right on my plate.

If you don’t have a vegetable garden of your own know than you can purchase all the ingredients at your local Aldi which makes this recipe very affordable.

This Italian Sausage Wraps recipe doesn’t take long to make and your entire family is going to love it.

Ingredients Needed for Italian Sausage Wraps

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, divided
  • 1 pound Italian sausage links (hot or sweet, or a mixture), quartered
  • 1 cup (medium-sized) red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch squares
  • 1 cup (medium-sized) green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch squares
  • 1 cup (medium) onion, cut into thin wedges
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • large lettuce leaves (Romaine or Iceberg)

How to Make Italian Sausage Wraps

In a large skillet add half a tablespoon of olive oil and sausage and cook and stir until the meat is well browned.

In another bowl, add the peppers and the onions, Italian seasoning, salt and the other half of the olive oil and mix.

Add the mixture to the sausage.

Cook and cover and occasionally stir until sausage is fully cooked and vegetables are tender.

Serve in lettuce cups.
