Ingredients Needed for Nutter Butter Chick Cookies
How to Make Nutter Butter Chick Cookies
First place a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Don't skip this step or you will have trouble getting your chicks off the cookie sheet in one piece!!!
Melt some yellow candy melts according to package instructions. I like to start with a small amount and melt more as needed so I don't waste them. It is surprising how many Nutter Butter Chicks you can make with a small amount of candy melts.
Dip your Nutter Butter cookie into the melted candy and coat it well.
Lay the coated cookie onto the parchment paper.
Before the candy hardens, add a yellow Reese’s Piece to each side for the chick’s wings. You could use yellow M&M's if you prefer. I am not a huge fan of Reese's Pieces…but for some people they want to stick with peanut butter candy for this project.
Add two candy eyes and a carrot beak before the candy coating hardens.
Add two orange Reese’s Pieces for the chick’s feet.
Put the cookie sheet into the freezer for a minute for it to set and then ENJOY! These looks so pretty on a nice platter.
How Will You Display Your Nutter Butter Chick Cookies?
I am hosting Easter this year and I like to have pretty platters and displays for the food. There is a beautiful pale pink platter in my pantry….but it really won't go with these yellow chicks, LOL. I have been looking for something else for spring…here are some ideas I have found.
This Secret Garden Spring Blooms Bunnies Platter is GORGEOUS! It is almost too pretty to cover with food, LOL.
Who wouldn't love these sweet bunnies peeking at the food? I just love this Sullivan's Spring White Bunnies Cake Plate.
Sometimes it is nice to have a platter that can be used year round and this Mud Pie Large Happy Serving Platter fits the bill perfectly!
