WHAT ARE SWEET POTATO CHIPS?
Sweet potato chips are chips made out of sweet potatoes instead of regular russet potatoes.
The chips have a slightly sweet flavor because of the sweet potato.
WHY MAKE CHIPS OUT OF SWEET POTATOES?
If you are curious as to why people would want to eat chips made from sweet potatoes there are actually a couple of good reasons.
Sweet potatoes offer a different taste and flavor from regular potatoes.
Although both types of potatoes have important nutrients, sweet potatoes tend to be lower on the glycemic index and some people prefer to eat foods that are lower on the index.
There are certain seasonings that just pair wonderfully with sweet potatoes….like the ones I am using in this recipe!
WHY AIR FRYER SWEET POTATO CHIPS?
I love using my air fryer as a way to reduce the oil and fat in my foods.

HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER SWEET POTATO CHIPS
I love easy recipes and this definitely qualifies. Remember that depending on the size of your air fryer basket…you may need to cook this in batches!
STEP ONE: CUT POTATOES
Start off by cleaning the sweet potatoes and slicing them very thin.
You can leave the skins on or peel them first if you prefer. The skins add nutrients and a little crunch, but it is a personal preference.
If you have a mandolin slicer it will be much easier to get uniform slices which helps with consistent cooking.
STEP TWO: SOAK SWEET POTATOES
Now that the sweet potatoes are sliced it is time to soak the potatoes.
Place the sweet potato slices into a bowl and cover in cold water for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, drain the potatoes and pat them dry very thoroughly.
STEP THREE: SEASON
Now toss the sweet potato slices in a bowl with the olive oil and spices.
Make sure that all the slices are coated with oil and seasonings.
STEP FOUR: AIR FRY
Spray the air fryer basket lightly with olive oil spray that is non-aerosol.
Place the sweet potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Cook at 350°F for 10 minutes, but pause the air fryer every 3-4 minutes and shake the basket so the slices cook evenly.
If the chips aren't crispy enough for you after 10 minutes just add a few more minutes on until they are just right for your taste buds.
Serve these with ketchup, mustard, ranch or even dill dip!
