WHERE CAN I HANG A BANNER
I am hooked on banners and usually have one hanging on my mantle all the time. If you don't have a mantle, there are other places you can hang banners. I love hanging a few patriotic decorations around the house, starting just before Memorial Day until after the Fourth of July.
- A banner can be hung on any wall. They can be attached with a straight pin or command hooks.
- Decks are popular spots to hang seasonal banners.
- Doorways can be used for smaller buntings unless you have a wide double doorway.
- I have even seen people hang banners on a fence in their yards.

HOW TO MAKE A 4TH OF JULY BANNER
Making this banner shouldn't take too much time. It can be reused year after year if you store it carefully. It can be used indoor or outdoor if it is in a covered area. I love that this bunting has American flag colors. Buntings are the perfect July decor for a party.
STEP ONE: CUT FILES
The first step is to download the cut files for this project.
Click this link to download the files: Crackle Pop Banner Cut Files
Once you download the files, you can upload them into your cutting machines program.
Cricut machines use Cricut Design Space, and Silhouette uses Silhouette Studio.Â
STEP TWO: CUT SHAPES
Once you have the files loaded into the software, it is time to cut the letters and shapes out.
You can cut them out according to the sample, using the same color plan, or you can use whatever colors of cardstock you wish! Aren't these stars cute?
If the banner you purchased doesn't have holes in it for the twine, you can punch those out with a regular-sized hole punch. One in each top corner.
STEP THREE: GLUE CARDSTOCK
Once you have all the pieces cut out, it is time to glue them onto the patriotic bunting.
This banner project uses a fishtail canvas banner. I love the look of this kind of banner!
It is harder to get the regular adhesive to stick to, and that is one reason I am using hot glue for this.
Hot glue the letters to the blank canvas banners, but don't mash them down really hard. If you press lightly on the letters, it will give a slightly raised 3D effect that looks awesome.
STEP FOUR: HANG BANNER
Use the twine to hang your banner, and sit back and smile at your creativity! Grab your other party supplies, and you are ready for that July party.
