How to Make a Patriotic Dipped Ice Cream Sandwich

Depending on how many Dipped Ice Cream Sandwiches you plan to make….will determine how much almond bark to melt.  I try to melt a little and I can always melt more if needed, but that helps me cut down on wasting the almond bark! So melt some almond bark….I just pop mine in the microwave for about a minute and stir and zap for another 30 seconds if needed.  If you prefer you can melt the almond bark on low heat on the stove.

Tear the top 3/4 of the ice cream sandwich wrapper off, but leave the bottom part…it makes it easier to handle the sandwich while dipping and even when eating!

Dip the top 1-2 inches of the sandwich into the almond bark.  Cover all sides and use a spoon or knife to spread it around nicely if needed.

Sprinkle with your patriotic sprinkles.  I sprinkled the front and sides, but not the back…you can do all if you want.  I found these adorable STAR SPRINKLES on Amazon and they were so much cuter than the plain ones I found in the store!  Plus they were cheap and shipped out FAST with my prime membership!!  I love to find things that are unique and not the same as what the local stores carry!  You can try Amazon Prime for free with this 30-Day Free Trial!

Place onto a piece of wax paper that is on a plate or pan and put in the freezer for a little bit to get the almond bark nice and solid.  Keep in the freezer until ready to serve.

What Do You Have Planned for the Next Patriotic Holiday

Patriotic holidays are some of our favorite.  We like to find fun ways as a family to support our troops during these holidays too.  My kids even do some projects on their own to support the troops!  Another fun way to stay cool is to download my free printable 4th of July fans and have them handy for your guests!
