IS HOMEMADE LEMONADE WORTH THE EFFORT?
I am known for taking shortcuts in the kitchen. Spending less time cooking is always something I strive for….but there are always a few exceptions. Those recipes that are worth the extra time and energy.
Making homemade lemonade is one of those things! There is such a big difference between homemade lemonade and a lemon flavored drink you mix up with some kind of powder!
I don't make this sugar free strawberry lemonade every week, but it is worth it for special occasions!
WEIGHT WATCHERS POINTS
This is a great beverage for Weight Watchers members or anyone watching their calories and sugar intake.
The recipe makes about 2 quarts which is 8 cups. Each serving is one cup.
There are ZERO points per serving on all 3 WW plans…green, blue and purple.
On the current WeightWatchers Program (2023) it is ZERO points per serving.
INGREDIENTS FOR HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY LEMONADE WITH NO SUGAR
This sugar free drink only has five ingredients. It is packed with fresh strawberries and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Yum!
- Lemons
- Powdered swerve
- Liquid stevia
- Fresh strawberries
HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE SUGAR FREE STRAWBERRY LEMONADE
The only step that takes much time is just squeezing the lemons. Everything else is a breeze to throw together. Your family will love this sugar free strawberry lemonade and you will love that it isn't loaded with sugar.
STEP ONE: SQUEEZE LEMONS
Start off by squeezing the juice out of five or six lemons. You will need about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.
Some tips for squeezing lemons and getting the most juice out:
- Put the lemons on the counter and roll them under your palm for a few minutes. This will help loosen up the insides of the lemon so you get more juice.
- Pop the whole lemon in the microwave for 10-20 seconds. Warming it up can help you get more juice.
- Use a citrus juicer to assist you!
Squeeze all the lemon juice into a measuring cup so you know when you have enough.
STEP TWO: CUT STRAWBERRIES
Hull the strawberries and cut them into chunks. You need about 4 to 5 cups of strawberry chunks to make this lemonade nice and berry-flavored!
STEP THREE: BLEND
Now place the fresh lemon juice, the strawberry chunks and the remaining ingredients into the blender.
Turn the blender on and process the mixture until it is smooth and foamy. A food processor will work great for this also.
STEP FOUR: STRAIN
I don't like chunks in my drinks so I like to pour the lemonade through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds from the mixture.
Once you have strained the mixture you can do a quick taste test.
If it is too sweet, add a tad more water. If it is not sweet enough then add a little more sweetener.
SUGAR FREE STRAWBERRY LEMONADE RECIPE

This easy and delicious homemade sugar free strawberry lemonade will become a favorite summer drink.
- 5 to 6 lemons for 1 cup freshly-squeezed lemon juice
- ¼ cup powdered swerve or other powdered sugar substitute
- 1 serving liquid stevia more to taste if desired
- 3 cups water
- 4 to 5 cups strawberries stems removed and cut into chunks

Squeeze lemons to remove the fresh lemon juice. One cup of lemon juice is needed.

Cut the strawberries into chunks after removing the stems.

Add all ingredients to a blender and process until smooth and foamy.

Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds or chunks.

Add additional water or sweetener if desired.
Weight Watchers points: one cup is a serving. Zero points per serving for blue, green and purple plans.
On the current WeightWatchers Program (2023) it is ZERO points per serving.
