How to Cook Tater Tots in the NuWave Oven
There are two reasons that I love cooking tater tots in the NuWave Oven. First is that I don't like getting my deep fat fryer out…it is messy and I don't like adding all of that fat to my tater tots. Secondly, if you do it right the tater tots will be really crisp in the NuWave Oven…better then in the oven.
Foil is the Key to Crispy Tots
The main key to getting crispy tots in the NuWave Oven is to use foil.
I put down a piece of foil to cover the upper rack in the NuWave Oven. You can spray the foil with nonstick spray if desired, but I typically don't find it necessary.
Next just put a single layer of frozen tater tots on top of the foil.
Turn the NuWave Oven on for 10-15 minutes on high. Now the cook time is going to depend a lot of YOUR preferences. We like our taters really, really done…but you may not.
The great thing about the clear dome is that you can SEE what is happening in there. Just turn the NuWave off when they look crispy!
Great Accessories for the NuWave Oven
Did you know that there are awesome accessories you can use to make your NuWave cooking even better?
Silicone products are great for the NuWave Oven. An 8 x 8 silicone baking pan is perfect for making desserts!
I also love the 8 x 4 Silicone loaf pans for making sweet breads in the NuWave Oven and not having to heat my kitchen up using the stove.
Do you have a NuWave Oven carrying case? I don't because I have never seen a need to take my oven anywhere else…but it would be great if you were a camper!!
